Tier 2 Points Based Scheme

Tier 2 has been separated into 4 categories. At Morgan Dias Immigration Consultants Ltd we deal with 3 of these categories:

            Tier 2 (General)

            Tier 2 (Sportspersons)

            Tier 2 (Intra-Company Transfers)

Before applying under any of the above categories you will need to have a job offer from a licenced sponsor and a certificate of sponsorship. Please go to Corporate Services.

Tier 2 (General)

This category is for persons who are coming to the UK with a skilled job offer to fill a gap in the workforce that can not be filled by a settled worker.

To qualify for Tier 2 (General) you will need to score 50 points. Points are awarded depending on attributes. Attributes are broken down between sponsorship, qualifications and future expected earnings.  

You will score the following:

Sponsorship                             30 - 50 points

Qualifications                            0 - 15 points

Future Expected Earnings           0 - 20 points

You will also need to score 10 points for English Language skills and Maintenance.

Tier 2 (Sportsperson)

This category is for elite sports people and coaches who are internationally established at the highest level, and will make a significant contribution to the development of their sport.

To qualify for Tier 2 (Sportspersons) you will need to score 70 points. Points are awarded depending on attributes. Attributes are broken down between certificate of sponsorship, English Language skills and Maintenance. 

You will score the following:

Sponsorship                             50 points

English Language skills              10 points

Maintenance                             10 points

Additionally you must have a governing body endorsement number which will be given by the sponsor.

Tier 2 (Inter-Company Transfers)

This category is for employees of multi-national companies who are being transferred by their overseas organisation to a skilled job in a UK based branch of the organisation.

To qualify for Tier 2 (Intra- Company Transfers) you will need to score 50 points. Points are awarded depending on attributes. Attributes are broken down between certificate of sponsorship, Qualifications and Future expected earnings. 

You will score the following:

Sponsorship                             30 points

Qualifications                            0 - 15 points

Future Expected Earnings           0 - 20 points

You will also need to score 10 points for English Language skills and Maintenance.
