Biometric data/ Identity Cards

The UKBA have today announced that subject to Parliamentary approval from 6th January 2010 all skilled workers and their dependents will require biometric enrollment.

From the 6th January 2010, subject to Parliamentary approval, skilled workers with a UK sponsor and their dependents who successfully apply to extend their stay in the UK under Tier 2 of the Points Based System will receive an identity card for foreign nationals.  

If a foreign national is applying in-country before the 6th January 2010 they will not require biometric enrolment.
